HAFEZ

KHajeh SHams – AL – Din Mohammad Hafez-E- SHirazi is Persian lyric poet (1315-1390) A.D

He is one of the mythical poets who became famous during his lifetime in far cities and countries.

Unfortunately a little credible information is known about Hafiz life.but his ideas of humanitarian was enough to make him an international hero.

In pursuit of reaching his beloved, Hafiz kept forty days and nights vigil at the tomb of Babakuhi.so it was reason that he could memorise the Qouran by his heart. His pen name is Hafiz or Hafez ( a tittle given to who had memorized the Qouran by heart) .He is claimed that Hafiz had done this in 14 different ways

Hafez had memorized the Qouran by listening to his fathers recitation of it.

It is said that he had worked as a copyist in a drapery shop and in a bakery where he deliverd bread to wealthy quarter of town . where tradition suggests that he had met ( SHakhe – e – Nabat ) which means ( branch of suger cane ) that refer to a young beautiful women to whom his poems are addressed to her.

Hafez collected his poems in a collection calles Divane Hafez. His tomb is locted in a beautiful garden which is ( Mosalla) . people bealive that he is a fortunteller. One of his beautiful poem written on the top of his biography inspiration in the Garden as follow:

“If you pass by my tomb pray and ask for blessing “

“because this will be piligrimage of librertiness.”

Hafez is so important that German scientist and thinker Goethe has said : Hafez in his poetry has inscribed undeniable truth indelibly and Hafez has no peer .
